March 25, 2026 ~ Director of Community Affairs and News Marie Osborne talks with Oakland University graduate Charles Stevens about how COVID-19 helped him prepare for his current job at Disney.
DETROIT, MICH. ~ For many, the pandemic had lots of negative physical and mental affects. But for 23-year-old Oakland University graduate Charles Stevens, the tumultuous time actually helped prepare him for his current job at Disney. COVID-19 first hit Stevens when he was a junior in high school and lasted throughout his freshman year in college. While those three years weren’t always easy to navigate, Stevens has found positives to look back on.
“My schedule is constantly changing, so in a way, working for Disney like this reminds me a lot of the uncertainty as it relates to my schedule,” Stevens said on All Talk Wednesday morning. “One morning I’m early morning, the next I’m closing. So I have that kind of uncertainty. And it feels kind of nice.”
