GENESEE COUNTY, MI ~ Since 2018, the Genesee County Sheriff’s Office has been running a task force aiming to combat human trafficking in the county.

The Genesee Human Oppression Strike Team (GHOST) lures people seeking to purchase sexual acts by putting up fake online ads. A deputy then arranges a meeting with these buyers under the guise of being a sex worker, only to be arrested once they arrive. The program has led to over 200 arrests in recent years.
