HALL COUNTY, GA ~ A Georgia teenager was charged with vehicular homicide over the death of a math teacher, Jason Hughes, after a toilet paper prank went wrong.
Hughes, 40, was exiting his house as five students from North Hall High School were fleeing his residence after throwing toilet paper onto his tree on Friday evening. As the teens were fleeing in two separate vehicles, Hughes tripped and fell in front of a pickup truck driven by Jayden Ryan Wallace, 18, and was subsequently run over, according to the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. The teens tried to help the teacher before the first responders arrived on the scene, with Hughes later dying at the hospital.
Wallace was charged with homicide, with the other students charged with criminal trespass and littering. The incident is still under investigation.
Hughes was a husband and father to two children, and also coached at the school. His wife told the press that he was beloved by the students and that the family would like to see the charges dropped against the students.
