EAST LANSING ~ Wisconsin delivered a dominant performance Friday night at the Kohl Center, surging past No. 10 Michigan State in a decisive 92–71 victory. The Badgers set the tone early, exploding for 51 first‑half points and controlling the tempo from the start. Michigan State, now 20-5, simply couldn’t keep pace with Wisconsin’s offensive rhythm or shot-making. The Badgers improved to 18-7 with the win, pushing themselves deeper into the Big Ten race.
Senior guard Nick Boyd powered Wisconsin’s attack, turning in a standout performance. Boyd poured in 29 points on 10-for-17 shooting, hit five 3-pointers and established himself as the game’s most dynamic scorer. Wisconsin also dominated the glass behind junior forward Nolan Winter, who grabbed 11 rebounds, five of them offensive, helping generate second-chance opportunities that repeatedly buried MSU’s comeback hopes.

(CONTINUED) For Michigan State, bright spots were limited. Junior forward Coen Carr led the Spartans with 19 points on 6-for-10 shooting, keeping MSU afloat during stretches of the first half. Redshirt guard Jeremy Fears Jr. facilitated the offense with 12 assists, continuing to serve as the engine of Tom Izzo’s backcourt, though the Spartans struggled overall to convert opportunities. Their 71-point output, while respectable, couldn’t keep up with Wisconsin’s relentless perimeter shooting.
Ultimately, Michigan State’s inability to slow Wisconsin’s offensive efficiency proved decisive. The Badgers shot confidently, rebounded with purpose and dictated the tone wire to wire. Michigan State returns to East Lansing needing to regroup after surrendering its highest point total of the season, while Wisconsin walks away with a statement win that could reshape its Big Ten trajectory.
The Spartans return home to face UCLA on Tuesday night.
