DETROIT ~ Over 200 salaried workers were laid off on Friday at General Motors due to a “restructuring” of the company’s design engineering team. The layoffs focused on the Warren Technical Center, with the cuts made shortly after GM revealed its third-quarter earnings and raised its profit guidance, leading to a significant 15% increase in its stock.
