Two current and four retired Detroit police officers are charged with bribery and kickbacks in a scheme to take stolen and abandoned vehicles to collision shops that were making payments to the cops.
Four of the six have pleaded guilty to extortion, according to the U-S Attorney’s office.
Named in the charges are 45 year old Deonne Dotson;
52 year old Charles Wills;
45 year old James Robertson;
46 year old Jamil Martin;
29 year old Martin Tutt;
and 52 year old Anthony Careathers.
Chief Craig says 2 other officers are on administrative leave and may be cited for administrative wrongdoing, short of criminal charges.
