Motorcycle riders are familiar with the dangers they face on the road, but this is not one that they think about.
A 70 year old motorcycle rider from Oxford was killed when he was hit by a flying turkey. Sheriff’s department says the man was riding on Stony Creek Road near Rochester when some turkeys began to cross the road. One of the turkeys flapped into the air and hit the man in the chest. He lost control of the bike, slammed into the guard rail, severing part of a leg. He was rushed to a hospital, but he died. He was wearing a helmet and other protective gear at the time of the crash.
