Several children were injured in the crash of a school bus and a pickup truck in East China Twp. in St. Clair County.
The accident occurred on St. Clair Highway and Wadham’s road in a rural area. Deputies and witnesses say the pickup truck ran a stop sign on Wadham’s and slammed into the school bus, belonging to East China schools.
A hospital says two children and the drivers of the bus and the truck were taken to the hospital. Deputies say 35 to 40 children were on the bus.
The other children were loaded on to another bus and taken to Pine River Elementary.
The school district says children were taken to the hospital as a precaution.
