IRAN ~ A fragile ceasefire agreement ended Monday as President Donald Trump threatened to bomb a U.S. ally in the Middle East.
Trump said that he does not intend to extend the memorandum of understanding between the U.S. and Iran, which saw occasional fighting between the nations, and instead will apply economic pressure on Iran. The latter, though, is currently negotiating with Oman on establishing routes through the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping route for the global oil trade that has faced closures during the war.
Trump threatened Oman, a long-standing U.S. ally, with bombings if the nation gets in the way of U.S. efforts to reopen the Strait.
The U.S. and Israel started the war back in February after launching missile attacks on Iran. Since then, thousands of people have died across the region, opening multiple fronts, such as in Lebanon and Yemen.
