DETROIT, MICH. ~ As the Detroit Red Wings wait to see how the Dylan Larkin trade request plays out, the team added a number of players to fill out the roster on Wednesday, the first day of NHL free agency.
Detroit signed three notable skaters in winger Viktor Arvidsson, goaltender Daniil Tarasov, and defenseman Jacob Bryson, while trading for winger Keegan Kolesar. Arvidsson and Kolesar both are under contract for two seasons as Kolesar was dealt from the Vegas Golden Knights for a third-round pick in the 2029 NHL Draft. Arvidsson signed with the Red Wings for $5 million a year after scoring 25 goals for the Boston Bruins in 2025-2026.
Tarasov will provide much needed backup to Detroit goalie John Gibson after the team traded prospect Sebastian Cossa to the Utah Mammoth for the 23rd pick in the 2026 NHL Draft.
