May 13, 2026 ~ Chris Renwick and Lloyd Jackson talk with Matt Dery, host of the ‘Pistons Pod’ podcast. They discuss the Pistons’ upcoming game five and strategies for a win, including Cade Cunningham’s critical role.
DETROIT, MICH. ~ After losing both Game 3 and 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals at Cleveland, the 1-seed Detroit Pistons are back at Little Caesars Arena Wednesday night for a pivotal Game 5 against the 4-seed Cavaliers.
The Pistons will need to do a better job of containing Cavaliers’ shooting guard Donovan Mitchell if they want to take a 3-2 advantage in the series. Mitchell scored 39 second half points on Monday. Turnovers have also hindered Detroit all postseason long as they committed 18 in Game 4, leading to easy baskets and momentum for Cleveland.
The Cavaliers have yet to lose at home in the playoffs, so Detroit dropping tonight’s contest would not bode well for their chances at Rocket Arena for Game 6 Friday.
Tip off is set for 8 p.m. on ESPN.
