May 5, 2026 ~ Chris Renwick and Lloyd Jackson talk with Hunter Patterson, a staff writer for The Athletic, about tonight’s Pistons’ playoff game against the Cavaliers and other news.
DETROIT, MICH. ~ After winning their first playoff series since 2008 against the 8-seed Orlando Magic Sunday, the 1-seed Detroit Pistons are back in action Tuesday night at Little Caesars Arena against the 4-seed Cleveland Cavaliers.
Both teams were pushed to the brink by their opponents in the first round as each series went to seven games. Detroit head coach J.B. Bickerstaff will be looking for some revenge after Cleveland fired him in 2024. The Pistons announced Monday that Bickerstaff signed an extension to stay in Detroit.
Both teams split the regular season series with each other, setting up what should be a very competitive round. Cleveland’s size could pose an issue for Detroit, so perimeter shooting and physicality will play a critical role in the Pistons coming out victorious.
Tip off is set for 7 p.m. on Peacock.
