DETROIT, MICH. ~ The East’s top seed, the Detroit Pistons, are on the brink of having their season come to an end as the eight seed Orlando Magic lead the first-round series 3-1.
Turnovers and missed opportunities derailed Detroit’s chances in Game 4 as point guard Cade Cunningham tallied eight out of his team’s 20 giveaways in Orlando. All-Star center Jalen Duren also has continued to struggle against a physical Magic defense, only posting 12 points Monday night, while sharpshooter Duncan Robinson has been unable to find open looks.
This isn’t the first time Detroit has trailed 3-1 as the no. 1 seed. In 2003, the eight seed Orlando Magic found themselves in the same spot against the Pistons, ultimately losing three consecutive games to drop the series.
Game 5 is set to tip off from Little Caesars Arena at 7 p.m. on Amazon Prime Video.
