INDIANAPOLIS, IND. ~ Michigan closed its championship run with a gritty 69-63 victory over UConn on Monday night at Lucas Oil Stadium, capturing the 2026 NCAA men’s basketball national title. The game never became the offensive showcase many expected, instead turning into a defensive, physical battle marked by long scoring droughts and tough possessions on both ends. Michigan led 33-29 at halftime and never trailed in the second half, leaning on composure and execution late to fend off multiple UConn pushes.
UofM will host a celebration honoring the National Championship Team on Saturday, April 11 at the Crisler Center starting at 1 p.m. Tickets for the lower bowl are $75 and $30 for the upper bowl. A parade through the streets of Ann Arbor will begin Saturday at 10 a.m.
