Detroit City F.C. to Host Chicago Fire for U.S. Open Cup

HAMTRAMCK, MICH. ~ In a rematch from last year’s Round of 32 at the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, Detroit City F.C. will be looking for revenge against a Chicago Fire F.C. team who defeated Le Rouge 4-0 in Illinois. DCFC, a member of the USL Championship league, has fared well against Major League Soccer opponents since their first home upset win over the Columbus Crew by a score 2-1 in 2022. In 2024, they knocked off the defending Open Cup champions, the Houston Dynamo in the Round of 32. Kickoff for this year’s duel is set for next Tuesday, April 14, at 7:30 p.m. at Keyworth Stadium.
