DETROIT, MICH. ~ The Detroit Pistons claimed their first Central Division title since 2008 in a 127-116 win over the Toronto Raptors at Little Caesars Arena Tuesday night. Without All-Star guard Cade Cunningham, who is dealing with a collapsed lung, Detroit All-Star center Jalen Duren has been shouldering the load. Duren notched 31 points and nine rebounds against a Toronto team who is fighting for postseason positioning. The Pistons sit four games ahead of the Boston Celtics as the top seed in the NBA’s Eastern Conference with six games left in the season. Detroit became the first team from the East to clinch a playoff spot in late March, marking the second consecutive season of late-April basketball for the Pistons.
