DETROIT, MICH. ~ Celebrating 20 years of service, WJR’s Mitch Albom, who founded S.A.Y. Detroit, held the annual distribution of Radiothon funds ceremony Monday afternoon at the S.A.Y. Detroit Play Center. The Radiothon, which was hosted in December, raised nearly $2.5 million. Leaders from multiple charities across the city of Detroit spoke at the event, highlighting the importance these checks have for those that fight poverty and food insecurity. Partners like Full Court Foundation, Hope Ignites Detroit, and the College for Creative Studies were all in attendance, including many more.
“If we are blessed, then we owe it to other organizations to bless them,” Albom said. “It’s because it’s the right thing to do.”
