WASHINGTON, D.C. ~ The Big 10, led by Michigan State and Michigan men’s basketball, managed to send six teams to the Sweet 16 over the weekend as March Madness ramped up. MSU, the three seed in the East Region, defeated Louisville 77-69 while UofM, the top seed in the Midwest Region, handled St. Louis 92-75 Saturday afternoon. The Spartans and head coach Tom Izzo will tipoff against another Blue Blood in two seed UConn and head coach Dan Hurley Friday night at 9:45 p.m. at Capital One Arena. Meanwhile, the Wolverines will face four seed Alabama in the 7:35 p.m. window at the United Center in Chicago. The second-best scorer for the Crimson Tide, junior guard Aden Holloway, did not play during the first weekend of the NCAA tournament after being arrested last Monday on two felony drug charges.
