March 23, 2026 ~ Chris Renwick, Lloyd Jackson, and Jamie Edmonds speak with Jason Roe, political strategist, about using ICE agents at airports. They discuss potential solutions for TSA issues and congressional inaction.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security recently announced that ICE agents are deployed at some airports across the country.
This comes amid issues with the TSA, as many employees are working without pay amid an ongoing partial government shutdown that has been in place since Feb. 13, leading to a high rate of absences. The shutdown is centered around approval of funding for DHS, with Democrats and some Republicans upset over recent fatal incidents with ICE agents.
Detroit Metropolitan Airport is not currently listed as one where ICE agents have been deployed.
