DETROIT, MICH. ~ In light of the Temple Israel attack, the Oakland County Sherriff’s office is providing free security training instruction to houses of worship to prevent events like what happened in West Bloomfield. According to Oakland County Sheriff Mike Bouchard, Temple Israel received training in December 2025, and it ultimately helped the casualty number to come out to one, which was only the attacker himself. During the seminar, staff and the building’s layout were accounted for. In the span of a year, three places of worship in Michigan have been targets of attacks.
