DEARBORN, MICH. ~ The Salvation Army’s 39th annual Bed & Bread Club Radiothon raised $1,344,174 to help the hungry and homeless in metro Detroit.
The 13-hour long radio radiothon aired live on 760 WJR, with its regular hosts Renee Vitale, Ryan Ermanni, Jamie Edmonds, Lloyd Jackson, Kevin Dietz, Marie Osborne, Lomas Brown, Anthony Bellino, Steve Courtney, Chris Renwick, Ken Brown, and Mitch Albom all taking part to help raise money throughout the day. Special guests’ actor and Michigan native Tim Allen and Dan Aronson of the Artichoke Garlic Foundation also took part in the broadcast at Ford’s Garage in Dearborn.
“For more than 15 years, our station has been honored to stand behind the Radiothon. The Bed & Bread Program remains a lifeline for so many in our community, offering essential support to thousands every single year,” Steve Finateri, 760 WJR Regional Vice President and Market Manager said. “We are deeply grateful to our listeners whose continued generosity truly changes lives.”
The fundraiser benefited The Salvation Army of Metro Detroit’s Bed & Bread Program, which serves more than 4,500 meals each day to men, women, and children in need, equating to nearly 1.7 million meals every year. In addition, the program provides more than 71,000 nights of shelter annually, along with warming items like hats, gloves, socks, personal supplies, and blankets.
