DETROIT, MICH. ~ After more than a three weeklong hiatus, the Detroit Red Wings will be back in action Thursday night to continue their quest to make the playoffs. Detroit forward Alex DeBrincat joined WJR’s SportsWrap Wednesday night to recap the gold medal win for U.S. hockey over Canada during the Winter Olympics last Sunday morning, and to preview the rest of 2026 on the ice in the NHL.
“I think he was playing a little bit different role than he does with us,” DeBrincat said about teammate and Detroit center Dylan Larkin’s role on Team U.S.A. “He was shutting down their top guys. And that’s what also makes him so good, is he can do both. He can be the leader of the offense and also play so well defensively and be so trusted out there.”
