MEXICO ~ Travel advisories and shelter-in-place orders are still in place for some parts of Mexico due to cartel violence, though many have lifted since the retaliation arose over the weekend.
Many airports in the country, including Los Cabos International Airport, are operating normally as of Wednesday, though U.S. travelers are being advised to be cautious when traveling to the country. This has caused many spring breakers to second-guess their travel plans to places like Cancun.
The violence erupted after cartel leader Nemesio Rubén Oseguera Cervantes was killed in a Mexican military mission, with the White House admitting that the U.S. provided intelligence for the operation.
