NEW ENGLAND ~ A major blizzard continued its frigid assault on the Northeastern United States Tuesday morning, cancelling flights across the country and leaving over 300,000 homes without power.
PowerOutage.com shows that the outages are mainly located in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Delaware, and Rhode Island. Detroit Metropolitan Airport saw delays Monday as the powerful East Coast blizzard disrupted air travel at major northeastern hubs, slowing aircraft and crew movement into the Midwest.
The storm is expected to continue affecting major East Coast airports through at least Tuesday, with blizzard conditions and heavy snowfall forecast to persist across the region. Aviation officials warn that the national flight network may not fully recover until after the storm clears, and lingering delays could extend into mid‑week as airports work to reopen runways, reposition aircraft, and rebuild normal schedules.
