DETROIT, MICH. ~ The Detroit Lions will be starting a new era during the 2026 season as President and CEO Rod Wood is set to retire once his successor is named. Wood spent 11 years in Detroit, overseeing major highs and lows of the franchise. From assisting with the hire of General Manager Brad Holmes and Head Coach Dan Campbell, to helping get the team its first playoff wins of the century, Wood played a key role in Detroit’s massive turnaround. If the Lions are to look within for a replacement, COO Mike Disner and CEO Chris Spielman have been reported to be strong candidates.
