DETROIT, MICH. ~ In a first-of-its-kind trial about the harms social media has allegedly caused kids, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg testified about if his company has purposefully tried to get users addicted in front of a Los Angeles jury Wednesday. Zuckerberg was questioned about children under the age of 13 having access to Instagram, when the app requires a user to be 13 at the time of signing up for an account. Meta, as well as YouTube, are facing accusations of damaging a 20-year old’s mental health, who was drawn into social media while still in elementary school, through intentionally designed addictive measures on the platforms.
