Feb. 13, 2026 ~ Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido discusses some Valentines Day scams to look out for.

DETROIT, MICH. ~ Valentines Day is Saturday, and if you are looking for love on a dating app, there are some scams that adults, especially seniors, should watch out for. Fake profiles online will come up with lies, like surgery without insurance, to get people to Venmo them or wire transfer hard earned money.

“They have fake profiles, they have hardship stories,” Macomb County Prosecutor Pete Lucido said about dating app scammers on Focus. “They would really like to come and see them, but they just don’t have the money.
