WASHINGTON DC ~ Israel is voicing strong objections to the newly announced Gaza Executive Board, part of President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace,” saying the selections were made without Israeli coordination and conflict with national policy.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office said the U.S. did not consult Israel before announcing the makeup of the Gaza Executive Board, which includes Turkish and Qatari officials as well as former U.K. Prime Minister Tony Blair and Trump adviser Jared Kushner. Israel argued that the inclusion of officials from countries critical of Israeli actions in Gaza runs counter to its strategic preferences.
The Board of Peace is designed to oversee reconstruction and governance efforts in Gaza following a fragile ceasefire. Its multi‑tiered structure assigns day‑to‑day oversight to the Gaza Executive Board while international leaders form a higher‑level advisory body. Netanyahu has instructed his foreign minister to raise concerns with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The White House maintains that the initiative is part of Phase Two of a 20‑point plan aimed at stabilizing Gaza through demilitarization, technocratic administration, and large‑scale reconstruction. However, Israel’s objections highlight ongoing tensions between the two countries over the direction of post‑war governance.
