LOS ANGELES ~ In a game that lived up to its billing, the Los Angeles Rams edged the Detroit Lions 41-34 in a high-octane Week 15 clash at SoFi Stadium. Both teams traded blows behind stellar quarterback play, but the Rams’ late surge sealed their postseason berth.
The Lions struck first when quarterback Jared Goff connected with wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown for a 17-yard touchdown, setting the tone for an offensive showcase. Los Angeles awnsred back with two rushing scores from running back Kyren Williams, but Goff answered with precision, tossing touchdowns to wide receivers St. Brown and Jameson Williams to give the Lions a 24-17 halftime advantage.

(CONTINUED) Momentum shifted in the third quarter as quarterback Matthew Stafford found tight end Colby Parkinson for a 26-yard score, and second-year running back Blake Corum powered in from 11 yards to put Los Angeles ahead 34-24. Detroit clawed back with a Jake Bates 48-yard field goal and a David Montgomery 1-yard touchdown run, trimming the deficit to 41-34. However, a late fourth-down incompletion inside the Rams’ 5-yard line ended the Lions’ comeback hopes.
Statistically, the Rams dominated with 527 total yard to Detroit’s 408. Stafford threw for 368 yards and two touchdowns, while Puka Nacua led all receivers with 181 yards. Goff countered with 338 yards and three scores, leaning heavily on St. Brown and Williams. Despite the loss, Detroit showcased resilience, but Los Angeles’ clutch execution down the stretch proved to be the difference maker.
The Lions return home next week to go up against the Steelers.
