WASHINGTON D.C. ~ The Detroit Metro Airport is among 40 airports across the nation where the FAA is currently cutting flights due to the ongoing federal government shutdown. Now in its 36th day, the shutdown caused a 10% cut in the number of flights starting Wednesday as many air traffic controllers continue to work without pay. These cancellations come shortly before the busy holiday travel season.
