Michigan Rockers Jack White, Kid Rock Caught in Political Social Media Feuds

DETROIT, Aug. 21, 2025 ~ Two musicians with Detroit-area roots are engaging in public social media battles with major political figures.

Controversial rocker and MAGA supporter Kid Rock has blasted Democrat California Gov. Gavin Newsom for sharing an image of Kid Rock with the words “Kid Rock wants you to support Gavin Newsom,” parodying President Donald Trump‘s social media posting style. Rock responded with this vulgar statement: “The only support Gavin Newscum will ever get out of me is from DEEZ NUTZ.“

Meanwhile, former White Stripes singer and solo rockstar Jack White responded to an image of Trump meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the Oval Office, calling the office’s recent makeover as “vulgar, gold-leafed, and gaudy.” After White House Communications Director Steven Cheung called White “washed up,” White followed up by calling Trump “thin-skinned” and “fascist,” and calling out the actions of ICE and Trump’s support of Israel‘s assault on Gaza.
