MICHIGAN, Aug. 18, 2025 ~ It has recently become harder for Michigan cannabis dispensaries to make a profit due to low prices.
Oversupply of products has caused the pricing issues, with Crain’s Detroit Business Managing Editor Mike Lee telling WJR that 37 cannabis companies have not refiled for their state licenses this year. “They have unpaid taxes that they need to catch up on, and they just don’t have the money or don’t see the percentage in catching those taxes up and paying the fees again when they’re already losing money,” Lee said. “Prices are down like 65% from about two years ago.“
