ALLEN PARK, Aug. 11, 2025 ~ The Detroit Lions’ continued on with training camp after defeating the Atlanta Falcons 17-10 in the team’s first win during the second game of the NFL preseason.
Safety Morice Norris suffered a scary injury in the exhibition as he took a hit to the head from the leg of Falcons’ running back Nate Carter and had to be carted off the field and to the hospital. Detroit Head Coach Dan Campbell confirmed that Norris is back with the team in concussion protocol and that he will be taking it easy over the next two weeks.

(CONTINUED) “The training staff here, all the game day crews do a really good job,” offensive lineman Dan Skipper told 760 WJR Correspondent Nick Lundberg. “It’s all scary but at the end of the day you go out there and use good technique, fundamentals. I think the big man upstairs has a lot to say if it’s your time or if it’s not.”
After a rough outing against Atlanta that included two fumbles, backup quarterback Hendon Hooker struggled again at practice Monday afternoon. The third-year quarterback forced a pass which was intercepted during live action drills.
Injuries continue to pile up on both the offensive and defensive lines. Two backup offensive lineman in Justin Herron and Colby Sorsdal are both out for the year after sustaining injuries against the Falcons. Rookie defensive end Ahmed Hassanein left camp early with an injury but told reporters that he was feeling fine as he walked off.
