Aug 5, 2025 ~ It’s time to huddle around the campfire and look at the latest from the Detroit Lions training camp!
(CONTINUED) Injuries continue to hit Lions camp, with the latest reports involving cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr. and safety Dan Jackson.
“Tough to say,” Campbell told the media regarding Rakestraw’s timetable for return. “It’s a shoulder. I think it’s going to be a while at best.”
Campbell also noted that things don’t look promising for 7th-round pick Jackson.
The head coach also spoke about the competitive energy between defensive coordinator Kelvin Sheppard and offensive coordinator John Morton.
“It’s kind of business as usual for us. It’s a competitive environment, everybody wants to win, and then let them know when they win,” said Campbell. “So, it’s pretty good. It’s the right kind of spirit. I don’t think we take it too far, but it’s a great mix because it’s the same thing, it’s no different than the players.”
The Lions’ first preseason game will be against the Falcons in Atlanta at 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug 8.
