DETROIT, July 1, 2025 ~ Four-year old Samir Grubbs and 18-year-old Daviyon Shelmonson-Bey were both shot and killed in a triple shooting Friday, June 27 while a 17-year-old was injured at Skinner Playfield in Detroit. Quincy Smith of Team Pursuit has been busy canvassing neighborhoods trying to get all children from ages 12-17 involved in structured summer activities to avoid more of these situations.
“We have a lot of young people across the city who are not engaged in helpful programming,” Smith said on “All Talk.” “We just want to be the conduit there.”
