DETROIT, June 11, 2025 ~ Michigan Senators, including Democrat Elissa Slotkin, are pushing back against California’s electric vehicle plans.

The GOP attacked Democrats over pro-EV policies during the 2024 election cycle. During Slotkin’s Senate run, she flipped from voting against blocking an EPA mandate on EVs, to releasing an ad in opposition of mandating electric vehicle sales. Last month, Slotkin became the only Senate Democrat to side with Republicans in voting to kill California’s influential nation leading electric sales rules.
