Gotion, Michigan Township Appear In Federal Court Over Battery Plant

BIG RAPIDS, MI, May 13, 2025 ~ Gotion Inc., an electric vehicle battery company based in China, appeared in court against Green Charter Township officials over a $2.6 million battery plant project.

The Green Charter Township officials, whose municipality is near Big Rapids, no longer want the plant to be built under the deal made with previous officials. The legal challenge appeared in a federal court in Cincinnati, centering around the lawsuit refusing to extend water lines to the factory site.
