DETROIT, April 27, 2025 ~ The sixth seeded Detroit Pistons couldn’t convert on the last possession of game four of the first round of the NBA Playoffs against the third seeded New York Knicks, losing 94-93 Sunday afternoon at Little Caesars Arena.

The final shot by Detroit shooting guard Tim Hardaway Jr. ended in controversy as the refs decided to not blow the whistle on New York forward Josh Hart, leading to the Knicks taking a 3-1 series lead.

There was contact on Hardaway’s jump shot,” Head Coach J.B. Bickerstaff told WJR Correspondent Nick Lundberg after the game. “I don’t know any other way around it.”

Pistons All-Star point guard Cade Cunningham tallied his first career playoff triple double, scoring 25 points, dishing out 10 assists, and grabbing 10 rebounds. A total of seven turnovers came back to bite in the final possessions.

Towns had yet another successful day as Pistons forward Isaiah Stewart missed a third straight game due to knee inflation. Towns finished with 27 points and nine rebounds on 5-6 shooting from beyond the arc. Point guard Jalen Brunson led all scorers with a 32 point, 11 assist double-double.
