LANSING, Feb. 4, 2025 ~ Michigan Senate Democrats are suing House Republicans over nine bills that were passed by both chambers last year, but have yet to be sent to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer‘s desk.
The bills, passed in the final days of the Democrat-controlled legislature in December, have not been forwarded by State House Speaker Matt Hall (R-Richland Twp.), causing the Democrats to sue. The bills include increasing health care payments for publicly employed workers, allowing corrections officers in Michigan State Police retirement plans, and letting Wayne County put up millages for Detroit history museums to voters.
