Dorian Hooker, senior corporate governance administrator at AAA-The Auto Club Group, is a passionate advocate for giving back and making a difference in diverse communities. Over the past five years, Dorian has actively supported individuals affected by the pandemic, offering emotional, physical, and financial assistance. As a volunteer, member, and director of various non-profit organizations, Dorian has donated time, resources, and finances to help youth, underprivileged groups, and LGBTQ+ communities.
Growing up without significant resources, Dorian now seizes opportunities to provide aid, whether paying bills, purchasing necessities, or volunteering at organizations like Forgotten Harvest. Dorian’s commitment extends to shaping the next generation through initiatives like the Detroit Economic Club’s Career Readiness Academy, where they teach career and life skills to high school students.

His advice to his 20-year-old self? Don’t be afraid to say yes and always keep moving forward. Dorian has always lived by these pieces of advice, and it has served him well so far as he faced numerous roadblocks and hurdles. The hardships have been tests and learning opportunities to overcome and push past to continue accomplishing his goals and dreams.
