BLOOMINGTON, IN, March 10, 2024 ~ The Indiana Hoosiers defeated Michigan State 65-64 in the Spartans‘ regular season finale on Sunday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall in Bloomington.

The Spartans came out extremely slow. Just over 10 minutes into the game, Michigan State found themselves down 17. Fortunately for the green and white, an 8-0 run to close out the second half would allow the Spartans to only trail by five going into halftime.

To start out the second half, Michigan State would get 12 straight points off threes. With that, the Spartans were able to get out to a seven-point lead that the Hoosiers would quickly reel in.

March 11, 2024 ~ The Spartans fell to Indiana on the road, 65-64, and will now face Minnesota in the first round of the Big Ten Tournament on Thursday in Minneapolis. Michigan State Head Men’s Basketball Coach Tom Izzo talks with 760 WJR‘s Guy Gordon, Lloyd Jackson, Jamie Edmonds, and Steve Courtney about the play of his top three guards as they head towards the postseason.

(CONTINUED) Michigan State’s Tyson Walker was doing all he could to keep the Spartans out in front, bringing in 30 points and shooting over 50% from the field. However, Walker was unable to keep the Michigan State lead as the game was tied with 17 seconds remaining. A Spartan foul would send Indiana to the free throw line where the Hoosiers would retake the lead by one. Walker, with a chance to win it, would unfortunately miss his final jump shot, resulting in an Indiana victory.

The Spartans finish the regular season with an overall record of 18-13, and a Big Ten Conference record of 10-10. The Spartans face the Minnesota Golden Gophers this Thursday, March 14 in the Big Ten Tournament at the Target Center in Minneapolis. Coverage begins on 760 WJR at 11:00 a.m.
