MICHIGAN, Jan 8, 2023 ~ The Michigan Republican Party’s State Committee voted to remove Kristina Karamo from her role as the party’s chairwoman, though the noted election conspiracist is not recognizing the vote as legitimate.

The committee voted 40-5 in a meeting Saturday to oust her from her role following a year of financial and organizational disarray under her leadership, with the party’s Co-Chair Malinda Pego acting as interim chairwoman. Karamo, a former candidate for Michigan Secretary of State who gained notoriety for denying the results of the 2020 elections, claimed in an interview with “‘JR Morning with Guy Gordon, Lloyd Jackson, and Jamie Edmonds” that the meeting was “illegitimate” under party bylaws since over half of the committee did not appear for the meeting.
