Detroit Lions to Play Against its Former QB Matthew Stafford in First Playoff Game Sunday

DETROIT, Jan. 8, 2023 ~ The No. 3 Detroit Lions (12-5) will host their first game of the playoffs against the No. 6 Los Angeles Rams (10-7) on Sunday, Jan. 14 at Ford Field, with a familiar face to the Lions appearing among the opposing team.

Former Lions quarterback from 2009-2021 Matthew Stafford now plays for the Rams, and he will return to Ford Field for the first time since he was traded for Jared Goff. Stafford told ESPN that playing in Detroit again in the playoffs was “exciting” ahead of the game where he faces the quarterback he was traded for.
