EAST LANSING, Oct. 25, 2023 ~ A hearing officer from Michigan State University’s Office of Institutional Equity issued a report Wednesday that ruled its fired head football coach Mel Tucker sexually harassed rape survivor and anti-sexual violence advocate Brenda Tracy, who he hired as a sexual violence educator for the football team in 2021.

The report determined Tucker violated the university’s sexual harassment policy when he masturbated and made unwanted sexual comments on a phone call with Tracy in April 2022 without her consent, engaged in unwanted sexual advances months before the call, and did quid pro quo sexual harassment when he ended their business relationship months later, according to USA Today. While Tucker claims they had a consensual romantic relationship, the report found his version of events was less credible and that he made contradictory statements to an investigator involved with the case.
