MIAMI, Oct. 26, 2023 ~ Despite an explosive performance in the final round by star player Cade Cunningham, the Detroit Pistons fell in their 2023-24 season opener on Wednesday against the Miami Heat.
Cunningham, who scored 30 points in the game, roared the team to life as the Pistons trailed behind by about 20 points at the beginning of the fourth quarter, only to lose by one point at 103-102. This game was not only a test for a team with a lot of younger players, but for head coach Monty Williams as well, who coached his first game with the Pistons.
