TAMPA BAY, Oct. 16, 2023 ~ With yet another outstanding victory, the NFC North-leading Detroit Lions defeated the NFC-South-leading Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The Lions knocked out the Buccaneers with a 20-6 win on the road, continuing their winning streak and improving to a 5-1 record.

Jared Goff played some of his best football, completing 30 of 44 passes and leading the team to two touchdowns, one of which was a 45-yard rocket to Jameson Williams. Running back Craig Reynolds made an impressive block in the second quarter, freeing up space for receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown to run in for a touchdown. After returning from an abdomen injury, St. Brown finished with 12 receptions and 124 yards, serving as a key player in the game.

The Lions defense played their “A-game“, giving up only 6 points. The Buccaneers were shut down, unable to score a single touchdown throughout the entirety of the game.

Only downside was star running back David Montgomery suffering a rib injury in the second quarter, forcing him to leave mid-game. His status for next Sunday’s game is to be determined.
