EAST LANSING, Oct. 5, 2023 ~ Recently fired Michigan State University head football coach Mel Tucker did not appear at a Title IX hearing Thursday that was scheduled months ahead of time due to a “serious medical condition.”

An attorney representing Tucker, who is accused of engaging in nonconsensual phone sex with sexual assault survivor Brenda Tracy, sent out a statement the morning of the hearing announcing he would not attend the two-day virtual hearing. Tucker’s lawyers also released a large swath of new evidence in an attempt to discredit Tracy’s accusations against the former coach, and to try and show he was wrongly fired by MSU.
