DETROIT, Sept. 29, 2023 ~ Thursday night in Lambeau Field, the Detroit Lions proved themselves as a major threat to their division, defeating the Green Bay Packers 34-20 and claiming first place in the NFC North.

With combined forces, the Lions were unstoppable. Running back David Montgomery ran for three touchdowns and carried 32 times on his first game back after recovering from his thigh injury. Rookie tight end Sam LaPorta had four catches for 56 yards. Defensive lineman Aidan Hutchinson secured 1.5 out of the five sacks. And Jerry Jacobs intercepted two passes, made five tackles, and deflected four passes.

Before the Packers could claim their first touchdown, the Lions ran away with three, plus a field goal. Leading into halftime, the Lions dominated with a well-deserved 27-3 lead.

In the second half, Green Bay rallied, making it a more evenly matched game. However, it wasn’t enough to overcome the Lion’s prevailing lead.

Overall, the Lions outplayed, out-ran, and out-did the Packers.
