Sept. 11, 2023 ~ With Michigan State University‘s head football coach Mel Tucker currently suspended without pay and under investigation over sexual harassment allegations, the university has named interim coaches to take his place.
MSU announced during a Sunday press conference that secondary coach Harlon Barnett will serve as head coach, and former MSU football head coach Mark Dantonio will come out of retirement to be the associate coach during the investigation into Tucker. The head coach was accused of sexual harassment by prominent rape survivor and activist Brenda Tracy, who filed a complaint about Tucker’s alleged misconduct to MSU’s Title IX office in December 2022.
