Detroit Metro Airports Awarded 2022 Airport Service Quality Award

ROMULUS, MI, March 7, 2023 ~ The Airport Council International (ACI) has awarded Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) the 2022 Airport Service Quality Award for “Best Airport” in the 25 to 40 million passengers per year category. 

We’re just majorly excited about the recognition … the third time since 2018,Detroit Metro Airport Vice-President of Terminal Operations Angela Frakes told our Paul W. Smith.

March 7, 2023 ~ Angela Frakes, vice-president of terminal operations at Detroit Metro Airport, tells Paul W. that they are thrilled to be the recipient of the 2022 Airport Service Quality Award for “Best Airport” in the 25 to 40 million passengers per year category.

(CONTINUED) Frakes credits the focus and leadership of DTW’s CEO Chad Newton for inspiring a car-to-gate experience that’s efficient, friendly, clean, and at times even remarkable.   

We put the traveler at the center of our focus and attention … moving through our security checkpoints … maybe grabbing a bite to eat, [and] getting to their gate hold room … before they fly off somewhere either for business or family travel, or wherever their destination may be.”

The ACQ awards are tabulated annually based on responses in ACI’s Departures and Arrivals Survey, which features entries collected from across nearly 400 participating airports in 95 countries. DTW shares this year’s award with the Minneapolis / St. Paul International Airport in Minneapolis, Minnesota

Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport services as many as 35 million travelers each year through two terminals, six runways, 13 airlines, and up to 800 flights per day.
